Dr. Vogt, pouvez-vous présenter l’entreprise pour laquelle vous travaillez ?

At the Databases and Information Systems research group at the University of Basel, we are researching methods for the efficient storage and retrieval of heterogeneous and distributed data.

En quelques mots, quel est votre parcours, votre expérience professionnelle ?

I am a postdoc and lead the group's database-related research.

Quelle a été votre motivation à rejoindre le projet SwissRenov ?

I am particularly interested in the interdisciplinary nature of the project and the collaboration with engineers.

En quoi le projet SwissRenov est-il une opportunité pour vous ?

Research at University is often based on theoretical models that are validated using artificial benchmarks. I am always eager to validate our work by applying it to concrete projects.

Dans quel sous-projet de SwissRenov êtes-vous partenaire ?

I am involved in the sub-project 2, which consists in the first analysis of the buildings and setting up an analysis tool to suggest the best directions and recommendations for each stakeholder to take in the process of enhancing the value of the buildings concerned.

En quoi votre implication va consister ?

We develop the storage layer for the data management platform.

Qu’allez-vous ou avez-vous déjà mis en place dans votre entreprise,en lien avec la durabilité ?

The University of Basel highly prioritizes sustainability, e.g. by consistently offsetting carbon emissions from flights.

Quel impact pensez-vous pouvoir apporter au tissu économique jurassien au travers du projet SwissRenov ?

The project will provide valuable impulses for similar construction projects that can benefit from the experience and results of SwissRenov, both ecologically and economically.

Qu’attendez-vous de ce projet, à l’issue des 4 ans ?

A strong connection between researchers and engineers from which both sides will profit.
